NEW SHIRTS NEW SHIRTS NEW SHIRTS!!!

Oh boy and I am so excited!!! These are a few of the new designs I've just finished printing for a sale me and Mumble Tease will be at this weekend.

The top one is a collaboration I've been working on with another local designer, Stellar Hoods, who make these neat hood/scarf things. The project is for the Canadian Cancer Society with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the organization.

And the other designs are just silly Mumble Tease goodness!! And I've got a few more designs printed and ready to go as well and other colour combinations, but I'll be posting pictures of them later. If you want to see them sooner, come out to Make It at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Calgary this weekend. Woohoo!!

Sketchy Collab with Chika!

Sometimes Chika and I meet up at a bar and do collaborative sketches where we each start something in our own sketchbooks, and then at random intervals trade and continue where the other person has left off. It's fun to see what someone else decides to do with your drawing!

And yet some more quotes on fabric!

I was selling shirts at the Market Collective this weekend and made up some more quotes on fabric to sell as well.

Oh! And I'm going to be selling shirts and things the last weekend of April at the Chinese Cultural Centre for Make It! It's a three-day sale that comes to Calgary twice a year, featuring some cool hand-made stuff.

I'll be doing up some new designs and getting in some new sweaters and v-necks, which I'm very excited about! It's going to be a busy month!!

Here's some sketches old and new, that I'd like to share with you!

Yup, here's a bunch of sketches from my 8.5x11 inch sketchbook that I've never gotten around to scanning. Some of them are really old, like a couple of years...

T-shirts for Sidney York

I recently did a rather large order (465 shirts! WOW!) for a friend who's got a new album and will be touring across Canada in the spring (May I think...) to promote it. Her name is SIDNEY YORK and you should visit her website and try and check out one of her upcoming shows and buy a shirt! (My sister Sheryl is even playing her oboe and singing at the shows! So come out and heckle the oboe player!!! Heeheehee...)

It's the largest print run I've ever done, and although I'm only 2/3 of the way through, it went really well! I'll be printing a third design on another 200 blue shirts some time in the nearish future! Exciting!

Logo: Meaningful Work Project

This is a logo project I did for Miss Alla Guelber who is the founder and director of the Meaningful Work Project. It sounds like a pretty neat project she's starting up and if you're at all curious, please check out her website at www.meaningfulworkproject.ca.

The last image is a banner I put together for the website.

Sketchbook Project 2011

Sooooo, this is a pretty neat project I participated in. There were something like 28000 Moleskin sketchbooks sent out and each person fills it in, using one of the themes as inspiration, and mails it back to the Brooklyn Art Library. They archive them and put them online, send them on a tour that visits libraries in major US cities, and then keep them in the Brooklyn Art Library. Here's a link to their website:

It was interesting sketching based on a theme. The theme I chose was "Science Project Gone Wrong," and as you can see, I used it as a very loose general idea, with some things really having absolutely no relation to it at all... Oh well. It was fun though. I even rebound the book with heavier paper so that I could paint in it, and included a few fold outs! Neat!
